Entry Requirements

A minimum age of 16 years is required. Students will be tested to check their level of English so that the correct level is assigned. The test used is the Oxford Placement test and a test designed by Business College NZ to test English proficiency.  There are nine levels ranging from Beginner to Advanced.

Aims & Purpose

ESOL courses range from 1 week to one year full time programmes, designed for learners with Basic English Language Skills and better. On successful completion of any 12 week course, you should have acquired at least one level higher than your current level.  After studying in a one year course you should have good language skills required to live in an English speaking community and to pursue education at Diploma level. The courses are designed to develop overall English language skills, with specific focus on Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking, hence it will develop skills at your pace enabling you to reach your goals, such as taking on those exams like IELTS, TOEFL etc. Whether you want to just learn the language, prepare for tertiary education in New Zealand or prepare for an English language test, this is the right course for you.
